Gate of Europe Towers

One of the most symbolic known buildings in Spain and world’s first inclined skyscrapers, the twin office towers known as Puerta de Europa stands tall for its leaning design. With an inclination of 15º and stretched 30 m from their base the shape of these towers looks like an open gate towards the skyline.

In order to enable a subway interchange, the buildings were to be kept back from the street. This opportunity gave architects to explore an unconventional design. The building has structural steel at the buildings’ perimeter with reinforced central core housing at the main vertical circulation. The roof helipad on both these towers shows their differentiation. The west tower is blue and the east is red.
